DSI Ridge Split Chisel Bone Expander Kit is used for crestal ridge augmentation to increase bone support for implant insertion. They enable the insertion of an implant at the time of augmentation avoiding the delay to permit consolidation of a graft. Chisels can be used in conjunction with screw-type bone expanders to facilitate bone manipulation. The ridge splitting chisels come in thicknesses of 1mm up to 2.5mm and a curved chisel. The different blade thicknesses allow the use of the chisels in the majority of narrow ridges. The blades are calibrated with score lines marked at 2mm increments.
