Aegis Lifesciences SURGISPON Hemostatic Dry Powder Sponge is an absorbable hemostatic powder formulated from purified pharmaceutical grade Gelatin for fast control of surgical bleeding. It is intended for use in diffuse, profuse, capillary, venous, and arteriolar bleeding, including areas that are difficult to access. The powder adheres well to irregular surfaces and helps promote rapid clot formation, making it suitable for procedures where quick local hemostasis is required. Its pH neutral, biocompatible composition supports safe absorption and allows effective use without leaving gaps between the clot and tissue surface.
SURGISPON powder is suitable for a wide range of surgical applications, including oral and maxillofacial surgery, cardiac procedures, orthopaedics, neurosurgery, ENT, plastic surgery, and other operative fields where bleeding control is essential. It may also be used in patients receiving anticoagulant therapy. The product is available in 1 g and 3 g sizes. A 14 cm applicator can be purchased separately for precise delivery to the treatment site.
